ST. FLORIAN AM INN, AUSTRIA, July 22, 2025 — The expansion of the “EVG Minis” company kindergarten includes spacious group rooms on the ground and upper floors, three gymnasiums that also serve as event spaces for parent evenings, and modern outdoor facilities. An additional playground was built in front of the kindergarten building, directly accessible from the ground floor group rooms. “We want to offer employees with children a high-quality childcare service directly on the company premises for the long term. With this generous expansion, we are laying the foundation today for the continued growth of our company in the coming years,” explains Adolf Hanke, Corporate Human Resources Director at EVG.
A Contemporary Educational Concept
Currently, more than 60 children attend EVG’s company kindergarten, cared for by a 16-member team of early childhood educators and teaching assistants from the Caritas OÖ organization. The educational concept focuses on language, technology, and movement — from weekly English lessons to participation in the “KET – Kids Experience Technology” program by the state of Upper Austria, which introduces children to STEM topics in an age-appropriate way. “The transition from the nursery to the kindergarten is seamless for the children. In addition, our parents benefit from long and nearly year-round opening hours and the ideal location close to their workplace and directly on the Inn River,” says Nina Sophie Heger, who co-manages the kindergarten with Eva Hingsamer.
EVG: A Family Business and a Business for Families
Family-friendliness meets innovation: Over ten years ago, the vision of company co-founder Aya Maria Thallner became a reality with the EVG Minis. As the first company kindergarten in the Schärding district, EVG set a milestone with the EVG Minis. “It brings me great joy to see how the kindergarten has developed since its founding in 2013. With this expansion, we reaffirm our commitment to work-life balance and sustainable site development here in St. Florian am Inn,” says Aya Maria Thallner.
This recent site development is also great news for new EVG employees with children — or those planning to start a family: children from 12 months of age are always welcome at the EVG Minis — with no long waiting times!
