Software Backend Developer with a Passion for AI (m/f/d) - location in Linz

As a software developer with solid expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP), data structures, and Python backend development, you will help us advance our innovative AI products and shape the future of technology.

In this role, you will develop modern, scalable software solutions that seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into real-world systems. As part of a global market leader in the semiconductor industry, you will contribute to the development of groundbreaking technologies that define the next generation of AI applications.

The primary workplace is in Linz. To ensure you get off to a great start with your team and your new responsibilities, the onboarding will take place mainly at the headquarters in St. Florian am Inn.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Architecture and development of Python-based backends for AI applications, including API design, database integration, and software development
• Development of robust OOP-based solutions for existing systems and new requirements
• Building and managing asynchronous API backends with modern toolsets (e.g., FastAPI, REST APIs, WebSockets)
• Designing and implementing ETL processes to connect machine learning and LLM components
• Optimization and management of multi-threaded processes to enhance performance for intensive backend computations
• Ensuring performance and stability through testing, debugging, and performance tuning
• Close collaboration with AI researchers and engineers to integrate solutions into our AI services

Requirements:

• A degree or training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP), especially with Python; knowledge of C++ and SQL as well as FastAPI and REST APIs is an advantage
• Experience in developing Python backends for AI applications, including API development, database architecture, and software design
• Expertise in building data flows and API structures, as well as working with asynchronous tasks, message queues, and idempotent data processing
• Initial experience in developing ETL pipelines connecting LLMs, ML models, and databases
• Knowledge of multi-threading programming for optimal GPU utilization
• Ability to perform automated testing (e.g., with unit testing modules), profiling, and performance optimization
• Experience with modern development environments such as Linux, Docker, Git, and DevOps processes
• Strong communication skills and good command of English
