ST. FLORIAN, Austria, March 3, 2022—EV Group (EVG), a leading supplier of wafer bonding and lithography equipment for the MEMS, nanotechnology and semiconductor markets, announced today that the state of Upper Austria has awarded EVG with the Felix Familia State Family Award 2022 in the “large companies” category. With this award, EVG has been recognized as one of the most family-friendly businesses in Upper Austria. The panel of judges was won over by the project “EVG Minis – little INSIDERS, really big”, EVG’s award submission which introduced the company’s childcare facility on EVG’s main headquarters campus, a unique company offering in the area.

Upper Austria Deputy Governor Dr. Manfred Haimbuchner honored EVG and other award winners at an award ceremony in Linz on March 2, and was proud of the many innovative submissions. According to Dr. Haimbuchner, “Family friendliness has a particularly high priority in many companies and is anchored in their corporate mission statements. In this way, companies create the best possible conditions for families to make it possible to combine family and work.”

EVG began offering in-house childcare adapted to the working hours of its employees at the "EVG Minis" in 2013 in a new building ensemble with large open spaces on the company premises along the Inn River. In this current season, more than 50 children in two kindergarten and two toddler groups are being cared for by a total of 11 care providers. EVG attaches great importance to diversity and integration in the program. In one project, for example, the children experience English as a foreign language voluntarily, absolutely at ease and without pressure, with a lot of fun and joy.

For the professional operation of the childcare facility, EVG has relied on Caritas Linz since the founding of the EVG Minis. The company’s childcare offering is supplemented by the "EVG Summer Camp", which offers children from 6 to 12 years of age an exciting and varied summer holiday program.

The compatibility of family and career is very important at EVG. Aya Maria Thallner, co-founder of EVG and mother of three herself, is delighted that the EVG Minis has been awarded the Felix Familia 2022. "The realization of the company kindergarten made a long-cherished, personal dream come true. With EVG's own childcare, we want to make it as easy as possible for young mothers and fathers to return to work with childcare that is tailored to working hours," stated Thallner.
